Post Workout Mistakes

Happy Monday everyone!

Getting to the gym  and working out are one thing…. But making sure that you are not committing post workout crimes will help you see the results you want! You may be making some common post workout mistakes without even realizing it.

  1. You skip the stretch.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            After exercising, your muscles may feel tight. If you are weight training then your muscle length shortens, which can leave you feeling tight and sore. You should stretch right after a workout to make sure that the muscles you worked are not tense.
  2. Reward yourself with food.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The workout is done and now you are hungry instead of making an excuse that you just worked out so you can have a greasy burger, choose a healthy alternative like qinoa and kale salad. After all you don’t want to just intake all the calories you just burned.
  3. You recover with a sports drink.                                                                                                                                                                                      Sugary sports drinks can replenish electrolytes, but if you’ve just finished a short workout, the extra calories are probably unnecessary. I personally don’t drink any sports drinks at all, they are to sugary for me. I always stick to a healthy alternative like lemon/mint water or coconut coconut water for natural source of electrolytes.
  4. You don’t stay committed.                                                                                                                                                                                                            Making sure that you stay on track and committed to your workout routine will help you feel better. You will only see progress if you make exercise a consistant part of your schedule. You’ll not only look good, but feel good! 🙂
