5 Ways to become more Grateful

Here are 5 ways to help you make it happen!
1) Keep a gratitude journal:
Establish a daily practice to write down and remind yourself of your gifts, your blessings and people in your life. Do this 1st thing in the morning, make it a 5 minute ritual to jump-start your day and your attitude!
2) Remember the bad to appreciate the good:
Sometimes it’s helpful to remember the hard times to truly be grateful in our current state. Remind yourself how far you have come. If you can’t be grateful for your current state, how do you expect to receive more?
3) Watch your Language:
Listen and be mindful of your words. Focus on using the words of abundance, blessings, gifts, giving, etc. Take the negative out and switch to a positive even if you don’t feel it…it will shift your thoughts and in turn shift your words!
4) Use Visual Reminders:
We lack mindful awareness at times and visual reminders can serve as cues to trigger thoughts of gratitude. It can be a picture of your family, your pets, anything that will remind you of the beauty in your life.
5) Go through the motions:
Even when you don’t feel like it, start smiling, say thank you and write letters of gratitude to yourself or others. You will see how quickly your outlook will shift.
